Personal Legal Advisory Membership™
per month — cancel anytime
Legal problems don't start in court. They start with one wrong decision.
For R499 a month, ClauseWise is your first call before a contract dispute, a letter of demand, a landlord issue, or a consumer complaint becomes a costly legal battle.
No long-term commitment. Cancel at the end of any billing period.
Your first call before the legal battle
ClauseWise attempts to resolve matters cost-effectively through negotiation, settlement, and mediation — referring to our legal partners only when litigation is the only way forward.
Prevention before litigation — always.
What makes ClauseWise different
Most people only seek legal help once a dispute has become stressful, costly, or unavoidable. ClauseWise changes that.
Early intervention. Practical support. Better outcomes. Our goal is to help you avoid unnecessary legal costs by identifying risks early, resolving disputes wherever reasonably possible, and helping you make informed decisions before matters escalate.

A core part of your membership
ClauseWise can engage the other party on your behalf

Simple process
How the membership works
Join online
Complete the intake form and activate your membership. Your first month begins immediately.
Submit your matter
Tell us what you need help with. We assess your matter and confirm whether it falls within your monthly membership scope.
We get to work
ClauseWise reviews your documents, drafts correspondence, engages the other party where appropriate, and advises you on your options.
Resolution or referral
Most matters resolve through negotiation or mediation. Where litigation is the only way forward, we refer you to our established legal partners.
Ongoing support
Your membership resets each month. New matters, new documents, new correspondence — your support continues.
Why members join
Legal issues rarely arrive on schedule.
A contract needs reviewing.
A demand arrives.
A dispute starts.
A service provider refuses to resolve a problem.
A landlord or tenant issue develops.
You receive correspondence you do not fully understand.
Instead of wondering who to call every time something happens, your first point of contact is already established.
R499/month
One predictable monthly fee for defined personal legal advisory and pre-litigation support.
- Up to 2 contract/document reviews per month
- Up to 2 correspondence/engagement requests per month
- 1 member consultation per month
- Other-party engagement where appropriate
- Pre-litigation support and guidance
- Professional referral facilitation where required
Two different things
Membership vs once-off service
Once-off service
Pay separately whenever you need a specific service — a contract review, a demand letter, a compliance document.
Best for: a single, specific matter where you know exactly what you need.
Personal Membership — R499/month
Defined ongoing personal legal-risk support for the whole month. Where appropriate, ClauseWise can also engage the other party on your behalf.
This comparison does not imply that every ClauseWise service is included in the R499 Membership. The Membership has defined monthly allocations and scope.
Transparency
What is not included
The Personal Membership is designed for personal matters only. The following are outside its scope:
- Business, commercial, or employer mattersBusiness Membership
- Formal legal representation in court or tribunal proceedings
- Matters requiring an admitted legal practitioner
- Criminal matters
- Matters where ClauseWise has a conflict of interest
- Unlimited or unrestricted legal advice
ClauseWise reserves the right to decline or refer matters that fall outside the membership scope or where a conflict of interest exists.
When we refer to our legal partners
ClauseWise attempts to resolve every matter cost-effectively through negotiation, settlement, and mediation first. Where we are convinced that litigation is the only way forward, we refer to our established legal partners who provide independent legal and litigation services.
Any legal partner acts independently of ClauseWise and establishes their own fees and terms directly with the client.
No guarantee of outcome
ClauseWise does not guarantee a particular outcome or that the other party will cooperate, settle, or accept the member's position. Our commitment is to provide professional support and practical intervention.
Not an emergency service
This membership is not an emergency legal service. Response times are within normal business hours. For urgent court deadlines or imminent legal proceedings, contact ClauseWise immediately and we will advise on the appropriate course of action.
Membership terms
How the membership works in practice
What is a "Matter"?
A 'matter' is a single, defined legal issue or dispute. Multiple unrelated issues are treated as separate matters and may be subject to separate monthly allocation usage.
Fair use
The membership is subject to fair use. ClauseWise reserves the right to decline matters that are unreasonably complex, voluminous, or outside the intended scope of the membership.
When ClauseWise may decline or refer
ClauseWise may decline or refer a matter where it falls outside the membership scope, requires formal legal representation, involves a conflict of interest, or where ClauseWise reasonably determines that the matter cannot be appropriately handled within the membership framework.
Conflicts of interest
ClauseWise will not act where a conflict of interest exists between a member and another ClauseWise client. Members will be notified and offered a referral where appropriate.
Your responsibilities
Members are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and timely information and documentation. ClauseWise's assessment and guidance is based on the information made available at the relevant time.
Cancellation
Members may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Access continues until the end of the paid period. No partial-month refunds are provided.
Full membership terms are available on request. By joining, members agree to the applicable ClauseWise Membership Terms and Conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the R499 membership legal insurance?
No. It is a defined personal legal advisory and pre-litigation support membership. It is not legal insurance, an attorney-client engagement, or unlimited legal advice.
Does it include an attorney?
No. Formal legal representation is not included in the R499 Membership. Where a matter requires formal legal representation or specialist regulated services, ClauseWise may facilitate an appropriate referral to an independent qualified legal practitioner, subject to applicable requirements.
Can ClauseWise speak to the other party?
Where appropriate and within the applicable Membership scope, ClauseWise may engage the other party on the member's behalf — to communicate the member's position, raise the issue, attempt negotiation and seek a practical pre-litigation resolution. ClauseWise does not guarantee that the other party will respond, cooperate, settle or accept the member's position.
Is everything unlimited?
No. The Membership has defined monthly allocations: up to 2 qualifying contract/document reviews, up to 2 qualifying correspondence or other-party engagement requests, and 1 member consultation per calendar month. Unused allocations do not roll over to the following month unless expressly stated otherwise.
What happens if my matter becomes more serious?
If formal legal representation or specialist services are required, ClauseWise may facilitate an appropriate referral to an independent qualified legal practitioner. Any such practitioner acts independently of ClauseWise and establishes their own fees and terms directly with the client.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Members may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
Do unused services roll over?
No. Monthly allocations do not roll over to the following month unless expressly stated otherwise in the applicable Membership Terms.
Is there a guaranteed result?
No. ClauseWise does not guarantee a particular outcome or that the other party will cooperate, settle or accept the member's position. Any assessment or guidance is based on the information and documents made available at the relevant time.
